CDL A Local Delivery Truck Driver

About The Position

Sysco seeks dependable local CDL A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload and deliver products—including meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, and supplies—to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Drivers build relationships with customers through a positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with customer operations to meet their needs and expectations. Most Driver Trainees have daily routes and are home nightly. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This opportunity is available through Sysco Corporation, its subsidiaries, and affiliates.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must pass employment testing.
Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) and a driving record that meets company insurability standards.
Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
Must be able to handle touch freight, including lifting, pushing, or moving products averaging 40–60 pounds and weighing as much as 100 pounds repeatedly.
Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

1 year of customer delivery experience.
6 months of hand cart/hand truck experience.
6 months of Food and Beverage experience.
2 years of consistent work history.
