About The Position

CTI is hiring a Hazmat Driver to load, transport, and deliver products, including sulfuric acid and ammonium nitrate products in pneumatic and tanker trailers to various mines and aggregate sites throughout Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, MSHA, and FMCSA regulations. The terminal location is Benson/Curtiss, AZ. Projected annual earnings are $95k annually, with hourly pay, bonuses, and more home time.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL
HAZMAT & Tank endorsements required
At least 23 Years of age
1-year tractor-trailer experience (less experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis and may require an extended training period)
Valid DOT Physical
Authorized access to mine site properties
Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations within the previous 3 years
No major moving violations within the last 5 years
Full Face Respirator to seal
Successfully pass road test evaluation
Successfully pass a controlled substance test for pre-employment purposes
Must be able to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
Must be available for work when hours are available, according to FMCSA’s hours of service regulations
Must be clean-shaven daily if required to wear a respirator.

Double/Triple endorsements preferred
Ability to operate a manual 10-speed configuration preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Load, transport, and deliver products, including sulfuric acid and ammonium nitrate products in pneumatic and tanker trailers.
Complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
Operate a combination vehicle in compliance with FMCSA.
Adhere to strict safety protocols, MSHA, and FMCSA regulations.
Work varying hours and schedules, occasionally staying overnight with short notice.
Perform tasks in rapid succession, handle stressful situations, make quick decisions, and react appropriately.
Crawl on hands and knees to open and close bottom hatches on the underside of the trailer.
Climb stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the ground.
Sit, drive, shift gears and stay awake for long periods of time.
