About The Position
As a Class A CDL Driver at United Rentals, you deliver equipment to customers safely, on time, efficiently, and courteously. You interact frequently with customers as a company ambassador, provide exceptional customer service, and may suggest additional equipment and supplies customers need. The role offers the opportunity to advance your career and contribute to the company's growth. Drivers are local and are home every night.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of DOT-regulated commercial driving experience.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
- Diligent attention to safety.
Responsibilities
- Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
- Operate construction equipment, such as semi-trucks and trailers ("low boys"), consistent with DOT classification CDL-A.
- Follow equipment-specific safety requirements, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
- Suggest additional equipment and supplies customers may need.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
