About The Position
McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a CDL A Driver to support its compost manufacturing and transportation operations. This role is for safety-focused professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional service and want consistent, year-round work. The CDL A Driver will help transport organic materials and finished compost products between customer locations and company facilities, supporting a process that transforms organic waste into valuable products that improve soil health, support agriculture, and promote environmental sustainability. This position requires operating company equipment safely and representing McGill on the road and at customer locations.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Safe driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends as needed
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year of CDL A driving experience
- Experience with dump trailers, roll-offs, walking floor trailers, or similar equipment
- Experience in waste, recycling, construction, aggregate, or hauling operations
- Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment familiarity
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, dump trailers, roll-offs, and walking floor trailers
- Transport organic materials, yard waste, and finished compost products
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Complete required DOT logs, inspection reports, and load documentation
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Maintain consistent communication with dispatch and operations teams
- Ensure loads are secured and transported safely
- Assist with loading and unloading activities when needed
- Deliver excellent customer service at all locations
