About The Position
Class A CDL drivers are hired for a dedicated Kroger grocery fleet based in Salem, Virginia. The role delivers refrigerated grocery freight on local and regional routes and provides daily home time. Drivers are paid weekly, with average earnings of $1,900 per week and $100,000 annually, and have a guaranteed 44-hour workweek. The operation is unionized and offers a pension and company benefits. Drivers work weekends and receive a minimum 34-hour reset during the week. Dispatch follows a first-in, first-out schedule, and drivers are on call until midnight before their scheduled day off. Route bids are based on seniority and take place twice per year.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 9 months of verifiable Class A CDL experience.
- No SAP drivers.
- Clean driving record.
- DOT medical card.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Reliable and safety-focused.
