About The Position

This position is for an entry-level CDL-A Driver, specifically designed for individuals who have recently completed CDL school and may lack the typical two years of experience often required. The company offers a structured training program where new drivers are paired with experienced trainers. The role focuses on running loads within the eastern part of the country, with a predictable schedule of two weeks out followed by time at home. The freight consists of dry van loads, with a mix of drop and hook, live load, and unload stops. Drivers can expect steady miles, averaging between 1,900 to 2,300 miles per week.

Requirements

Must be 21 years or older with a valid Class A CDL.
New drivers must have completed 120 or more hours from an accredited CDL school.
Experienced drivers need 6 months of OTR experience in the past year, or at least 12 months in the past 5 years.
Two or fewer moving violations in the last 2 years.
No major preventable accidents in the last 5 years.
No DUI or DWI in the last 5 to 10 years, depending on CDL issuance date.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Must pass a hair and urine drug screening.
Must live within 200 miles of Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

Run real loads with a trainer for the initial weeks.
Operate a commercial truck on assigned routes.
Transport dry van freight, including drop and hook, live load, and unload stops.
Adhere to a schedule of two weeks out followed by time at home.
Maintain an average of 1,900 to 2,300 miles per week.
Participate in performance evaluations.
Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to DOT regulations.

Weekly pay, with a guaranteed minimum for the first 3 months of solo driving.
Paid training at $850 per week.

Starting pay of 55 cents per mile, increasing with experience up to a 65 cent cap.
