Regional driving position for new Class A CDL holders in the Mon Valley and south Pittsburgh. Drivers run out-and-back routes to Ohio and nearby hubs, remain within reach of home, and take their 34-hour weekend restart at home. Drivers average about 1,800 miles and $1,200 to $1,400 per week. Pay is $0.56 to $0.60 per mile based on verifiable experience, with a $1,000 weekly minimum during the first three months of solo driving. Drivers also receive $15 per stop and an extra $40 on loads under 100 miles. Training pays $650 per week. The hiring process includes a recruiter review of the applicant’s license and record, followed by orientation lasting no more than two days. The company covers the hotel and reimburses the bus ticket; orientation pays $300 once hired. New drivers then train with a mentor for three to five weeks, approximately 200 to 250 hours, before receiving an assigned truck. Trucks are automatic or 10-speed and average about 1.5 years old. Day, night, and rotating shifts are part of the job, as is driving in winter weather. Weekends are home time, and holidays align with home time. Pay is issued weekly by direct deposit.
