About The Position

Smithfield Foods is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as CDL-A Drivers (Regional) in Kinston, NC. Drivers will operate late model Freightliner tractors pulling 53’ reefer trailers, dispatched to company plants, distribution centers, and customer distribution centers. Success in this position relies on safe driving, customer service, and effective decision-making. The company offers competitive pay, with earning potential up to $100,000+ annually, and outstanding benefits. Drivers can expect an average of 2,500+ miles per week, no touch freight, minimal extra stops, and no travel to New York, New England, or western states. The equipment is fully serviced and leased, with no slip seating. An option to enroll in the 401K plan is available, along with Medical, Dental, Prescription, and Vision Benefits, and Paid Days Off.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
1-year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
May perform other duties as assigned.
