About The Position

Smithfield Foods is seeking motivated professional truck drivers for a regional CDL-A Driver position. Drivers will be assigned late model Freightliner tractors to pull 53’ reefer trailers, dispatching to company plants, distribution centers, and customer distribution centers. The role emphasizes safe driving, excellent customer service, and effective decision-making, offering a balance between work and life with competitive compensation and outstanding benefits. The position involves no-touch freight, minimal extra stops, and no backhauling through outside customers, with no travel to New York, New England, or western states. Full-serviced leased equipment is provided, and there is no slip seating.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 1-year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
