CDL-A Driver (Regional) - Sioux Falls, SD
About The Position
Smithfield is seeking a CDL-A Driver for a regional position based in Sioux Falls, SD. This role offers a great balance between work and life, with competitive compensation and the opportunity to drive late model Freightliner tractors pulling 53’ reefer trailers. Drivers will be dispatched to plants, company distribution centers, and customer distribution centers. Success in this position relies on safe driving, customer service, and effective decision-making. Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1-year CDL Class A driving tractor trailer or reefer experience required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver freight over the road over long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure that all operations are in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Represent the Company and the trucking industry in a professional manner.
Benefits
- Earning potential up to $100,000+ annually
- Work schedules: 6 and 1, 6 and 2, 5 and 2 (Tues-Sat), (Sun-Thurs), (Sat-Wed)
- Anticipated home time is 2 days off per week (48 hours)
- Paid detention rate
- Drivers in this fleet should average minimum 2,500+ miles per week
- No touch freight and no backhauling through outside customers
- Less than 5% of shipments have extra stops
- No travel to New York, New England or the western states
- Full serviced leased equipment
