About The Position

Smithfield is seeking CDL A Drivers, including those with less than one year of experience, to join our team. We offer a CDL training program for drivers with a CDL class A, with 1 year + Class A Experience or CDL class A license with less than 1 year of commercial driving experience. Requirements

  • Current Class A CDL.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card upon hire.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, and holidays).

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Previous driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully complete a 5-7 week training program.
  • Follows required and recommended safety procedures while driving, delivering feed or loading and unloading with animal welfare being the foremost concern.
  • Complies with all DOT rules and regulations.
  • Reports all accidents promptly through proper authorities.
  • Complies with all rules set forth by the receiving agent.
