About The Position
Van Eerden Foodservice is hiring a CDL A Delivery Driver in South Bend, Indiana. This role delivers products to customer locations on home-daily routes that depart from and return to South Bend, Monday through Friday. Drivers receive paid training and, after completing training, move to a component pay structure that rewards productivity. Most first-year drivers earn between $1,400 and $1,700 per week while working a standard five-day schedule; pay varies by route type, business conditions, and individual work ethic. Van Eerden is a fourth-generation, family-owned foodservice distributor focused on quality, service, and customer experience. Drivers manually unload products and place them in customer-designated storage areas, verify deliveries, collect payments when required, and provide professional customer service. They operate commercial motor vehicles safely in varied areas and weather conditions, comply with FMCSA hours-of-service and other requirements, and follow company safety practices.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen.
- Background check must be free from felonies.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Medical card.
- Ability to lift, push, or move products frequently weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 75 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customer locations according to scheduled delivery times.
- Manually unload products from the trailer using a two-wheeler and place them carefully in designated customer storage areas.
- Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Collect customer payments when required.
- Perform customer service responsibilities professionally to enhance the client experience.
- Safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicles in urban, suburban, and rural areas and in all weather conditions.
- Comply with FMCSA rules and regulations for DOT hours of service and compliance.
- Perform all work within company safety practices.
