Food and food service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They deliver customers’ products safely, in good condition, and at scheduled times while building relationships as representatives of the company. The driver operates a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes, delivering and/or unloading food and food-related products in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Routes include local packages with nightly home time and layover packages that may require up to two nights away per week; overnight stipends are provided. The position offers a four- or five-day work week, with additional days available. Average annual pay is $75,000–$100,000 or more, with uncapped pay potential. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, except to anyone who has worked for a Performance Food Group-owned company within the previous six months. Performance Foodservice serves local customers including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Its team works closely with customers and provides guidance on operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies.
