About The Position

The 3rd Party CDL Examiner is responsible for administering the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) skills and knowledge tests to students at Stevens Driving Academy. The position ensures that each test is conducted per state and federal guidelines and accurately reflects the skills needed to operate commercial vehicles safely. This individual will provide feedback to the Director of the CDL School and assist in the continuous improvement of the training curriculum based on test performance data. This position is on-site at Stevens Transport HQ in Dallas, Tx.

Requirements

  • Certified 3rd Party CDL Examiner with experience conducting CDL testing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal CDL requirements and testing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in using testing and evaluation software, as well as general office equipment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Must possess a valid CDL (Class A).
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a 3rd Party CDL Examiner or in a related role within the commercial driving industry.
  • Hands-on experience conducting CDL skills and knowledge tests.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a CDL Examiner is required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer CDL skills and knowledge tests, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure all students are evaluated fairly and accurately during the testing process.
  • Maintain thorough records of each test and ensure all documentation is properly filed and submitted to regulatory bodies.
  • Provide detailed feedback to students following their test, highlighting areas of strength and areas requiring improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in CDL testing regulations and ensure that the testing process remains compliant.
  • Report any discrepancies, safety concerns, or violations to the Director of the CDL School.
  • Assist in developing improvements to training programs based on the results of CDL testing and student performance.
  • Support instructors by providing insights and suggestions for enhancing the CDL training curriculum.
  • Collaborate with the Director and training team to ensure that Stevens Driving Academy continues to meet or exceed state and federal performance metrics.
