About The Position

Capital Automotive Group is seeking a CDK Administrator to manage CDK system needs across multiple dealership locations. This role involves bridging the gap between technology, accounting, and dealership operations. The administrator will be a key resource for dealerships and leadership, managing CDK access and security, troubleshooting issues, supporting accounting and operations, working with vendors, and optimizing system utilization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on CDK Drive experience in a dealership or dealer group environment
  • Strong working knowledge of dealership accounting and month-end processes
  • Experience with CDK user setup and security key administration
  • Solid understanding of dealership operations across Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and Accounting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand both department needs AND system capabilities
  • Excellent documentation and follow-through
  • Professional communication skills and the confidence to work with everyone from dealership teams to corporate leadership and vendors
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations
  • Flexibility to provide occasional after-hours and month-end support

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-rooftop or dealer group CDK administration experience
  • CDK certifications or completed CDK training programs
  • Experience with CDK Fortellis, 3PA integrations, APIs, or DMS data extraction
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/BI tools
  • DMS conversion, acquisition, or dealership consolidation experience
  • SQL or comparable query/reporting experience
  • Familiarity with the FTC Safeguards Rule in a dealership environment
  • Experience supporting multiple OEM franchises

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support CDK Drive across multiple dealership locations
  • Manage CDK user setup, permissions, security keys, and access
  • Partner with dealership accounting teams on general ledger, schedules, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Support system needs across Sales, F&I, Service, Parts, and Accounting
  • Troubleshoot CDK and DMS issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
  • Document system changes, processes, and troubleshooting steps
  • Work closely with store leadership, corporate teams, CDK, and other technology vendors
  • Evaluate requests and determine the best solution — including knowing when to say “no” when a request creates unnecessary risk
  • Support reporting, integrations, data needs, and system functionality
  • Assist with DMS-related projects, including acquisitions, conversions, consolidations, and new-store implementations
  • Provide occasional after-hours and month-end support when system issues or close requirements demand it
  • Travel to Capital locations as needed

Benefits

  • We’re growing, moving fast, and building something great together.
  • Opportunity to make a real impact across a growing dealership group
  • Work alongside a team that values collaboration, accountability, and getting better every day.
