About The Position

Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) is currently seeking a CDDO Intake Support Specialist. This role serves as the first point of contact for individuals accessing waiver services through the CDDO intake process. The position requires a working knowledge of HCBS IDD and Community Support Waiver services, eligibility requirements for Medicaid and waiver funding, and Medicaid and waiver eligibility processes. The specialist will handle incoming phone calls and emails, evaluate call routing, and document interactions in the EHR. Responsibilities include completing all intakes, managing annual waitlist verification, maintaining network email lists, and handling mailing systems for gatekeeping letters and MFEI options.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in IDD or related field.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe software.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) or more years of experience in IDD or related field.
Knowledge of state regulations related to the IDD field.
Human Relations/Interpersonal skills (oral and written communications skills).
Time management skills including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for people accessing waiver services through the CDDO intake process.
Answer CDDO main line phone calls and respond to CDDO contact emails.
Evaluate routing of calls as needed.
Document phone calls in EHR.
Complete all intakes (via email, phone, or in person).
Send, track, and record annual waitlist verification correspondences for those on the HCBS IDD waiver waitlist.
Maintain network email lists in CDDO distribution lists.
Manage all mailing systems including label generation (mail merge), sending gatekeeping letters, and sending annual MFEI options for signature.
