About The Position

The CDCA supports client care, maintains a safe and structured environment, and assists with daily program operations at Silver Maple in Lorain, Ohio. The role involves monitoring the premises and client behavior, helping clients follow program schedules, supporting admissions and group activities, and documenting observations and incidents in the EHR. The position is listed as overnight, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and part-time.

Requirements

Active CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Current TB test.

Experience working with mental health and/or substance use disorder populations.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, and visitors by monitoring premises, conducting routine patrols, and observing client behavior.
Monitor facility access, surveillance systems, alarms, and building conditions, and promptly report irregularities or safety concerns.
Support admissions staff with new client intake and orientation in accordance with program policies and procedures.
Help clients remain on schedule for meals, groups, therapy sessions, meetings, and appointments.
Co-facilitate psychoeducational groups and potentially lead meditation groups.
Supervise clients during recreational and leisure activities, ensuring engagement and adherence to program guidelines.
Support staff in enforcing program rules and maintaining accountability in accordance with client handbooks.
Assist with urinalysis collection and breathalyzer testing in compliance with policies and procedures.
Accurately document client interactions, incidents, and observations in the EHR system to support continuity of care.
Communicate effectively with team members regarding client behavior, concerns, and progress.
