About The Position

Under the direction of the Program Manager of Residential Services, the driver transports agency clients and items as scheduled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid NYS Drivers License with positive driving history required
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with colleagues and allied professionals in and outside the agency
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member and maintain confidentiality
• Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job and drive in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

• At least one (1) year commercial driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned schedule of pickup and drop off of all agency clients.
• Complete Daily Drivers Log and maintain receipts.
• Complete errands or deliveries as needed.
• Inspect agency vehicle for cleanliness and ensure gas and oil levels are maintained.
• Attend training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and use these techniques to prevent and/or intervene in a crisis situation while transporting clients.
• Follow all NYS traffic safety laws and report any hazard, damage, malfunction of the vehicles to the appropriate supervisor/administrator in a timely manner.
