About The Position

Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) is seeking a Community Support Team (CST) Clinical Supervisor for its Merrionette Park Office. MFS is dedicated to empowering families to learn, earn, heal, and thrive, with a strong emphasis on community. This role involves providing clinical oversight, staff supervision, case consultation, program coordination, and direct client care, all while promoting an integrated, whole-person approach to care grounded in evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Must be an LPHA in the State of Illinois, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience, required.
  • Proficiency in IM-CANS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days) and knowledge of ASAM criteria, required.
  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.
  • Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Rule 132/140 or CST/ACT models strongly, preferred.
  • 4+ years of post-graduate counseling or social work experience with increasing levels of responsibility, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and authorizes IM+CANS assessments and treatment plans, ensuring medical necessity and compliance with Medicaid, CST requirements, and CCBHC standards.
  • Maintains quality and quantity of services.
  • Keeps abreast of client service needs and participates in planning for them.
  • Promotes an integrated, whole-person approach to care that addresses clients' behavioral health, physical health, and safety needs.
  • Cultivates a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Leads daily team huddles and weekly team meetings to facilitate communication and ensure coordinated care.
  • Provides and documents direct clinical supervision to team members, including those seeking professional licensure.
  • Responsible for all personnel matters within team including hiring, assigning, and staff.
  • Identifies for manager, leadership potential of program staff.
  • Provides weekly individual and group supervision; track licensure hours for associate-level clinicians (LPC/LSW).
  • Serves as a primary thought partner for complex cases, crisis response, and mandated reporting decisions.
  • Provides on-call clinical consultation for mobile crisis responses and stabilization efforts.
  • Monitors team caseloads and ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratios.
  • Assists with scheduling to ensure client needs are met daily.
  • Manages daily operations, including scheduling, performance metrics, and service integration.
  • Ensures appropriate integrations of multi-service, multi-disciplinary, and systems approach.
  • Participates in developing the unit’s annual and long-range plans and recommend program budgets to management.
  • Provides direct services each week, including mental health rehabilitative services, therapy (individual, group, and/or family), and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Conducts person-centered assessments and develops individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
  • Diagnoses and treats behavioral health conditions using evidence-based practices.
  • Identifies and responds to changes in client needs, including decompensation or risk of hospitalization, and adjusts levels of care accordingly.
  • Coordinates care with family members, internal providers (medical, dental, SA/DV), and external partners such as schools, DCFS, hospitals, and community organizations.
  • Delivers services in the home, community settings, and virtually, as appropriate.
  • Responds to client and family needs outside of scheduled sessions, including during crises.
  • Ensures fidelity to evidence-based models and compliance with documentation standards, billing requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Completes and reviews clinical documentation (i.e., IM+CANS, progress notes) to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
  • Audits clinical documentation to ensure it meets medical necessity and "Golden Thread" standards for CCBHC auditing.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with local providers and community groups to facilitate client referrals and linkages.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Other duties as assigned.
