About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a CCA Design Engineer in Orlando, Florida for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position focuses on Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, including connector and component selection and layout, IDX file creation, and release of drawings and documentation using Windchill. The role also involves developing and improving products, coordinating with other organizations, and guiding design activities through manufacturing and integration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience designing Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) using Creo Parametric
  • 3+ years of CCA design experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zuken
  • 3+ years of experience with IPC standards
  • 3+ years of experience with aerospace/defense product cycles
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality design documentation
  • Ability to guide test and integration activities
  • Ability to work onsite in Orlando, Florida

  • Harness design experience using Zuken E3

Responsibilities

  • Select and lay out connectors and components on Circuit Card Assemblies
  • Create IDX files and release resulting drawings and documentation using Windchill
  • Design major components or major portions of functional systems and technically advanced products
  • Develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations
  • Develop preliminary layouts, sketches, notes, and design data for design proposals
  • Investigate design factors including manufacturability, material and equipment availability, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-to-weight efficiency, contractual specifications, and cost
  • Coordinate with organizations affected by design development
  • Create assembly layouts and detail parts for devices, mechanisms, structures, and products
  • Review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy
  • Identify design errors, omissions, and deficiencies
  • Recommend revisions and improvements to design layouts
