About The Position

Under the supervision of the Community Center Director, the Community Center Program Supervisor will support, monitor, and supervise the Direct Support Professionals assigned. Program Supervisors must possess the physical, mental and emotional capabilities to successfully supervise a diverse team. This position requires a high degree of problem solving, flexibility, independent thinking, organization, excellent communication, and relationship-building skills. Leaders in this role must be able to work within a team to achieve a common goal - to provide opportunities to adults with diverse challenges to maximize their potential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • two years related experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with individuals who are medically/behaviorally acute.
  • Prior experience working with aging adults and adults with functional impairment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing leadership, advice, training, feedback, and guidance to staff regarding the daily care, instruction, and safety of individuals
  • Serve as first point of contact during assigned shift/schedule for daily and emergency situations
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and work distribution within assigned program in accordance with levels of supervision
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of required documentation by staff
  • Aid in the resolution of problematic situations occurring within the program
  • Notify Senior Program Management of any unusual or emergency situations
  • Appropriately document and report staff performance-related issues
  • Maintain all levels of supervision for assigned individuals at specific Program sites as outlined in the Individual Support Plan
  • Comply with the ISP as detailed for assigned individuals; run daily goals with each individual; instructs, prompts, and/or assists each person in the achievement of goals while actively encouraging the independence of each person within his/her ability limit while following standard interaction protocol or individual behavior plan.
  • Supervise, instruct, and provide guidance to assigned individuals with daily living and work activities, as applicable and dependent upon specific Program; e.g., purchase and inventory of food and personal supplies, cooking, housekeeping, money management, social awareness, interpersonal relationships, work skills, personal hygiene, recreational and vocational activities, etc.
  • Ensure Program site operates in accordance with the organization’s quality standards for safety, cleanliness, and comfort and state licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Depending upon specific Program requirements, may ensure the routine maintenance and cleanliness of specific Program site, as well as the transportation vehicles assigned.
  • Prepare for, and promptly respond to, emergency situations to ensure the safety and security of the Program site and individuals supported at all times; e.g., participate in fire drills, emergency evacuations, etc.
  • Notify proper authority in the event of a valid emergency.
  • Serve as a role model to individuals supported by projecting a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
  • Assume primary programmatic responsibility in the absence of the Community Center Director
  • Meet productivity standards of Adult Day and Older Adult Services
