About The Position
KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat-resistant alloys and high-nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings, which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual), GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in-house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in-house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing. Responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and setup of centrifugal pouring machines and cleaning room equipment as assigned following company safety protocols and maintaining traceability standards in production.
Requirements
- Must pass required testing
- Able to follow provided instructions accurately
- Ability to read, interpret and accurately use a tape measure.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a foundry or manufacturing setting is an asset
Responsibilities
- Work in a safe manner consistent with the Occupational Heath and Safety and KMC policies and ensure work areas comply with proper housekeeping and safety procedures at all times
- Wear all required PPE as per department and job function requirements
- Operate all equipment and machinery according to established safety rules, Sops, and at set standard rates.
- Maintain full product traceability as per ISO and department standards.
- Perform minor maintenance, such as greasing, changing bearings and changing saw blades
- Safely operate overhead material handing equipment
- Maintain proper house keeping procedures
- Prepare and install end-plates (blasting, spray-up, disk installation, pin installation).
- Assist with various tasks as a helper-in-training in the foundry
- Ensure all written communication and notes are detailed, clear, legible and easy to understand
- Actively work towards achieving the next positioned level
- Preform additional tasks and responsibilities as required.
