About The Position

Paramount Events is seeking an experienced Cave Cook to join our culinary team and immediately contribute to large-scale off-premise catering events throughout the Chicago area. This role is specifically for candidates who already have hands-on experience with off-site catering operations, banquet production, and cave cooking/hot box execution. We are looking for someone who can step into a fast-paced environment with minimal training and confidently support event production, food transport, holding, and execution at a high level. Requirements

  • Previous cave cooking / hot box catering experience REQUIRED
  • Previous off-site catering or banquet production experience REQUIRED
  • Ability to step into a fast-paced catering environment with minimal training
  • Prior experience in catering, hotels, banquets, or high-volume event production strongly preferred
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • Strong understanding of food holding, transport logistics, and banquet-style service execution
  • Ability to stay organized and work efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment and food pans weighing 50+ lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • English is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and load food for off-site catering events with accuracy and efficiency
  • Operate and manage catering hot boxes (“caves”) and food holding equipment during transport and service
  • Ensure food is held, transported, and executed at proper temperatures and quality standards
  • Assist with event kitchen setup, production flow, and breakdown at off-site venues throughout Chicago
  • Coordinate timing and communication with chefs, culinary staff, and event teams during service
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of prep areas, storage areas, and equipment
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures at all times
  • Support culinary leadership with production and execution needs for events of varying sizes
