Catholic Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time substitute teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at its Spring, Texas, location. The substitute works 13 hours per week as needed when staff are absent. Substitutes may decline assignments when unavailable. The academy provides training, curriculum, and grading guidelines; tutors are trained to provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The role is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m. Tutors must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. Staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required. No additional vacation days are given; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Live the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
- Willingness to prepare for classes at home.

- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Experience in Catholic parish ministry.
- Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
