About The Position

The Catholic Mass Musician will provide musical accompaniment for Sunday Masses and other Catholic services at Eglin Air Force Base. This role involves performing on piano and/or organ, attending rehearsals, coordinating with the Priest and Choir Director, and managing musical equipment. The position requires a strong understanding of Catholic worship music and the ability to work collaboratively with various individuals and groups within the Chaplain Corps.

Requirements

• Practical experience and proficiency in playing piano and/or organ.
• Working knowledge of Catholic worship music and ability to learn new hymns and songs.
• Ability to work cooperatively with chaplains, choir directors, musicians, volunteers, and other faith groups.
• Must be in good standing with a Catholic parish and obtain a Letter of Sustainability.
• Must successfully complete the required DoD background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform piano and/or organ accompaniment for the 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM Sunday Catholic Masses.
• Attend and support weekly rehearsals and coordinate music with the Catholic Priest and Choir Director.
• Perform for Holy Days, special Masses, liturgies, and other scheduled Catholic services.
• Set up, secure, and properly store instruments, microphones, music stands, and related equipment.
• Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and coordinate an approved qualified substitute when necessary.
