About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time teacher to teach 3rd Grade in a classical Catholic classroom in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is approximately 14 hours per week, with classes held Mondays and Thursdays from 8:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The academy is a national classical homeschool organization in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting. The role is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required; training, curriculum, and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors are trained to deliver instruction and manage classrooms according to RCA standards. The teacher must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. Applicants must complete training videos before starting work. All employees must complete and pass a background check and complete RCA Safe Child training before teaching. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and be living the faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. No additional vacation days are provided beyond the academy’s stated vacation and holy days, with accommodations for sick days as needed.

Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Willingness to prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment.

Nice To Haves

Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent.
Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
Experience in parish ministry or teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
Experience teaching one's own children.
Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
