About The Position

This is a contract position for a Cath Lab Technologist. The schedule is Monday-Friday, with options for 7:00 am-5:30 pm or 7:00 am-3:30 pm. The role involves operating Cath and auxiliary equipment, processing images, and maintaining equipment and documentation.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, relieving anxiety by explaining the procedure in layman's terms and ensuring consent forms are obtained.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and operating x-ray equipment.
• Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities to the Radiologist.
• Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
• Utilizes film markers to ensure correct side identification and ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
• Enters exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
