About The Position

This is a contract position for a Cath Lab Tech. The role involves operating cath and auxiliary equipment, processing images, and maintaining equipment and documentation. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3 days per week, with 12-hour shifts. The pay rate is $100/HR.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, relieving anxiety by explaining the procedure in layman's terms and ensuring consent forms are obtained.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and operating x-ray equipment.
• Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities to the Radiologist.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
• Ensures images are properly marked and labeled with correct date and patient identification.
• Enters exam information onto the daily log sheet and completes tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
