About The Position

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a dynamic Cath Lab Technician who is passionate about helping others and is a team player. This role is vital in our mission to make communities healthier. As a Cath Lab Technician, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, optimizing patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors. You will be responsible for formulating and revising individualized plans of care, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, collaborating across disciplines, and educating patients and their families. You will also act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient, protecting their rights.

Requirements

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Current ARRT or RCIS certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position required.
  • Associate’s degree from Radiological Technology program required.
  • Equivalent years of Cath Lab Tech experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Accepting candidates - Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) CI, RCIS, Certified Paramedic (CST) and Certified Surgical Technologist - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluation overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights.
