About The Position

The Cath Lab Technologist Lead serves as a clinical expert and operational resource for the cardiac catheterization team. In addition to performing advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, the Lead oversees day-to-day operations, supports staff development, monitors compliance with policies and regulatory standards, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and leadership to optimize patient care. This role balances procedural duties with workflow coordination, precepting, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • One of the following required: ARRT, RCIS, CVT, NREMT, AEMT, or CST
  • BLS (Required upon hire)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting (Required)
  • Frequent standing and walking, lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Prolonged periods wearing lead aprons
  • Requires full sensory capabilities and manual dexterity
  • Must respond to call within required timeframe (typically 30 minutes)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic or Cardiovascular Technology (Preferred)
  • ACLS (Required within 6 months)
  • Previous experience in a preceptor, lead, or supervisory role (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties of the Cath Lab Technologist, including scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring procedures.
  • Serves as a primary resource for procedural planning and execution, equipment setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Leads daily assignments, procedure scheduling, and communication among team members.
  • Trains and mentors new and existing staff on clinical competencies, safety, and workflow efficiency.
  • Assists leadership in maintaining inventory control, capital equipment maintenance, and vendor coordination.
  • Ensures compliance with radiation safety, regulatory standards, infection control, and accreditation requirements.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and data collection.
  • Acts as liaison between clinical staff and management, providing feedback and advocating for departmental needs.
  • Participates in call rotation and assists in coverage planning to maintain service availability.
