About The Position

The professional Registered Nurse has authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for delivering nursing care through the nursing process. The RN accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge and skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by the nurse and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated, with the goal of achieving quality patient care outcomes. The RN demonstrates advanced-beginner-level knowledge and skills to provide care relevant to the patients under their care and applies principles of growth and development across the lifespan. The RN assesses and interprets patient data to identify age-specific needs and provides professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting. This full-time role is scheduled for 36 hours per week on the day shift at the WMCH HVI Cardio Invasive Lab in Weirton, West Virginia. The position may involve protracted or irregular hours and work around biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased persons, water, and electrical hazards associated with patient-care equipment.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state where services are provided, or a current multistate RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
One year of nursing experience.
Interpersonal skills to communicate positively and effectively, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
Competent clinical practice and critical-thinking skills to deliver patient care efficiently with healthcare providers while maximizing resource use.
Flexibility in response to changes in work volume, staffing, and scheduling.
Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and adapt to changing workloads and assignments.
Meet the position’s physical requirements, including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials or equipment weighing 40 pounds or more; transfers, lifts, and repositioning are to use lift equipment and/or other patient-handling aids as indicated.
Visual acuity within the normal range.
Hearing within the normal range to assess sounds and monitors.

Responsibilities

Modify patients’ plans of care based on collected data and individual needs.
