About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist responsible for preparing the room, equipment, and materials for patient procedures. The role involves cleaning and disinfecting the X-ray room and equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and preparing patients for cardiac catheterization procedures. The technologist will explain procedures, position patients, and assist throughout the process. Key duties include following prescribed X-ray techniques, adjusting equipment, and ensuring proper patient positioning and safety. The role also requires scrubbing with the physician during procedures, monitoring the patient and equipment, reporting any unusual occurrences, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, the technologist will manage supply stocks, perform general office duties, write reports, assist with circulating during procedures, pan the camera and table for views, and transport patients. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Radiologic Technologist certification
  • Experience in a Cath Lab setting
  • Proficiency in sterile technique
  • Ability to explain procedures to patients
  • Knowledge of X-ray equipment operation and adjustment
  • Ability to monitor patient condition during procedures
  • Skills in maintaining supplies and performing office duties
  • Ability to transport patients

Responsibilities

  • Prepares room, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients.
  • Cleans and disinfects X-ray room and equipment.
  • Uses Sterile technique according to policies.
  • Prepares patient for Cath Lab, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedures.
  • Follows prescribed techniques in administration general and specific x-rays. (Adjust equipment; determines proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time; arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient; adjusts lead shield; and selects proper film.
  • Scrubs with physician during procedure.
  • Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.
  • Maintains stocks supplies and performs general office duties; writes reports.
  • Assist with circulating during procedure.
  • Pans camera and table for appropriate views.
  • Transports patients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
