About The Position

Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath or EP Lab experience.
• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular associate's degree program, accredited surgical technology program, or accredited radiology program.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• RCIS/RCES certification, CST certification, or ARRT(R).

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Cardiac Cath or EP Lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab principles and theory, and use appropriate techniques and positioning for optimal procedures and treatments, as demonstrated by results.
• Develop appropriate procedure or treatment plans.
• Implement procedure or treatment plans using established hospital protocols and guidelines and according to current competencies and scope of practice.
• Complete documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain equipment, procedure or treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participate in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Complete assigned goals.
