About The Position

Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Cardiac Cath or EP lab experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Associate's degree program, Surgical Technology program, or Radiology program.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• RCIS or RCES certification, CST certification, or ARRT(R).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab principles and theory and uses appropriate techniques and positioning to support optimal procedure and treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure and treatment plans.
• Implements procedure and treatment plans using established hospital protocols and guidelines and in accordance with current competencies and scope of practice.
• Completes documentation required by hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure and treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to help ensure patient and staff safety.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
