About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Associate Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT) for Interventional Radiology.
• Graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education for Cath Lab/EP Lab.
• Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
• BLS certification and active RT status upon hire for Interventional radiology.
• RT-CV or VI within 2 years of hire for Interventional radiology.
• BLS upon hire for Cath Lab.
• ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months for Cath Lab.
• IABP certification within 120 days of hire for Cath Lab.
• BLS upon hire for EP Lab.
• ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months for EP Lab.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Radiology or Interventional Tech is recommended for Interventional radiology.
