About The Position

The Catering Specialist plays a key role in supporting the success and growth of Plum Market’s Catering operations. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing in-store, online, and phone orders, planning and delivering catering events, and ensuring each experience reflects Plum Market’s commitment to exceptional food and service. The Catering Specialist works closely with the Catering team to build client relationships, drive sales, and support operational excellence throughout the catering process.

Requirements

Prior experience in catering, foodservice, or event coordination preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
A service-first mindset and a desire to exceed Guest expectations.
Ability to plan, sell, and execute catering orders with efficiency and professionalism.
A strong understanding of catering operations and customer service best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent driving record and willingness to support deliveries or on-site events.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

Serve as a primary contact for Guests placing catering orders in person, online, or by phone.
Coordinate event details, logistics, and timelines for corporate and private clients.
Preparing and packaging catering orders for delivery or pickup.
Ensure food quality, presentation, and timing meet Plum Market’s standards.
Support event execution including on-site setup and service as needed.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and positive referrals.
Communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, Store Leadership, and Prepared Foods leadership.
Support training and mentorship of Team Members involved in catering operations.
Maintain accurate records of orders, delivery logs, and client feedback.
Uphold all Plum Market policies, procedures, food safety standards, and operating practices.
