About The Position

Restaurant Associates is hiring a Catering Sous Chef at The Pearl in Charlotte to support a fast-paced, high-profile operation. Working closely with the Executive Chef, the Catering Sous Chef helps oversee catering production and daily culinary operations, contributing to an organized, process-driven kitchen and delivering high-quality events and dining experiences. The role requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, depending on business needs and event activity.

Requirements

• Strong culinary skills and experience in high-volume food service operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with culinary teams, clients, and operational partners.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven approach to kitchen operations.
• Ability to remain composed and focused in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading or supporting kitchen teams and coordinating daily production.
• Knowledge of food quality, sanitation, safety, and food cost controls.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, and production planning.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Catering or banquet experience.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Culinary degree or equivalent combination of training and professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily culinary and catering operations.
• Execute catering events from production through service, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Assist with menu planning, development, and presentation.
• Help manage food, labor, and operational costs while maintaining high standards.
• Lead, coach, and support culinary team members during service and event execution.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
• Assist with ordering, inventory management, and production planning.
• Partner with culinary and marketing teams to implement new programs and offerings.
