As Catering Sales Manager you will assist in implementing the total sales and marketing effort of the Catering department and Art and Soul Restaurant. You will be asked to secure new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and execute sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of YOTEL DC and Art and Soul Restaurant As Catering Sales/Conference Service Manager you will assist in implementing the total sales and marketing effort of the Catering department, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, servicing events, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of YOTEL DC while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Sales/Catering in a Management position.
  • Must have the ability to solicit, qualify and secure business in addition to growing existing accounts.
  • Thorough knowledge of major market segments.
  • Ability to identify market patterns and trends and lead change as needed to protect customer share.
  • Self-motivated positive role model.
  • Active participation in trade shows, familiarization trips, client entertainment and industry events.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers.
  • Schedule flexibility and ability to travel.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, organization, and computer skills.
  • Experience in Opera, Delphi, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, HTML and Photoshop.
  • Strong knowledge of print production and traffic management.
  • Keeps up with the latest on-line technologies and trends.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a design/independent hotel environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attends all mandatory meetings and training classes.
  • Implements the activities and strategies of the hotel catering sales team to maximize the generation of catering sales revenues and achieve goals.
  • Responsible for forecasting their catering revenues on a weekly basis.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to produce group and/or conference business, to include room sales, food & beverage sales, catering/banquet services, meeting room rental.
  • Ensures actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan and to accurately report variances/projections.
  • Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all catering areas.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues.
  • Participate in the research of the competition's products, services and pricing and use it to develop strategic business plans.
  • Ensures Banquet Event Orders are created for each catering function.
  • Ensures contractual agreements are executed in a timely, and error-free manner.
  • Keeps weekly log of activities to include prospecting calls, site inspections, inquiries as well definite, tentative, and lost business.
  • Develops and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of the local community groups and companies.
  • Attends trade shows and events to generate catering business.
  • Assists in training and providing feedback using company hiring standards and guidelines.
  • Experience evaluating every catering business opportunity to maximize revenue and profitability while achieving customer expectations.
  • Develop community and industry relationships.
  • Pursue membership & networking in organizations outside of the traditional hotel model.
  • Actively sells and prospects.
  • Communicate, demonstrate, and support the company culture, vision, values and branding standards in all aspects of sales and marketing activities.
  • Partner with team to ensure all group needs are met, encouraging repeat business.
  • Collaborate to create promotions for specific accounts and time periods.
  • Innovative, brainstorming for new ways to uncover and capture business.
  • Communicates effectively and genuinely with guests, team members and other departments.
  • Shows initiative and anticipates needs in job performances.
  • Consistently follows up to ensure guest satisfaction that meet and exceed our service standard.
