About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager will lead the sales and coordination of catering events at the National Geographic Museum, driving revenue through strategic client partnerships and exceptional event planning. This role will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and client consultations to contract execution and event follow-through. The manager will collaborate closely with culinary, operations, and marketing teams to deliver high-quality events that align with the museum’s brand and client expectations while maximizing profitability.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, or event management
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets
  • Experience managing client relationships and executing high-volume or high-profile events
  • Proficiency with sales and event management systems (e.g., Delphi, Tripleseat, or similar CRM tools)
  • Experience developing proposals, contracts, and pricing structures
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including banquet and catering services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of catering operations, banquet service, and food and beverage standards
  • Ability to develop proposals, contracts, and pricing packages for events
  • Experience managing multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management practices
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in food service operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience using sales and event management software (e.g., Delphi, Tripleseat, or similar CRM systems)
