About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a dynamic and hospitality-driven Catering Manager 3 to support high-profile catering and retail dining operations at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Cooper University Hospital is a 635-bed acute care academic and trauma center recognized for clinical excellence and continued growth throughout the region. This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious healthcare account with significant expansion planned over the next five years. The Catering Manager will oversee approximately $600K in annual catering volume, supporting a wide range of executive-level, physician, hospital leadership, and special event functions while also assisting with grab-and-go retail operations and supporting the Executive Chef in day-to-day culinary operations. The ideal candidate will be a polished, hands-on leader with strong culinary skills, excellent client relationship abilities, and the confidence to independently manage high-profile events from planning through execution.

Requirements

  • Strong culinary background with hands-on cooking experience required
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and event timelines
  • Computer savvy with strong administrative and communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable leadership style with willingness to support operational needs
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years minimum management experience
  • 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Catering leadership experience with high-profile or executive-level events preferred
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills with polished professional presence
  • Experience within healthcare, hospitality, corporate dining, or upscale catering environments preferred
  • Experience supporting retail or grab-and-go operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute high-end catering events and daily catering operations generating approximately $600K in annual revenue
  • Build strong relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, clients, and department stakeholders
  • Coordinate all aspects of catered events including planning, menu development, pricing, logistics, execution, and follow-up
  • Support the Executive Chef and Production Manager with daily culinary and operational oversight
  • Oversee grab-and-go retail offerings while helping drive innovation and presentation standards
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 5 employees, including oversight of a Sous Chef
  • Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, customer service, and operational execution
  • Utilize computer systems for event coordination, communication, ordering, and reporting
  • Drive catering growth while maintaining outstanding client satisfaction and service standards
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and operational standards
