About The Position

The Life Alive Catering Lead will report directly to the General Manager with accountability to the Catering General Manager. In this role you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of the catering business for their cafe. They will oversee production, staging, packaging, and delivery of all catering orders, while communicating and collaborating with the café team to ensure proper par levels, in-stock position, and quality of product.

Requirements

• Possess dexterity to handle spoons, pots/pans, steamer baskets and other equipment
• Be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold
• Be comfortable occasionally working in tight spaces
• Be comfortable working in a kitchen
• Bend and reach overhead often
• Sit, squat and kneel occasionally
• Lift up to 50lbs
• An active learner and can learn culinary recipes and tactics
• Highly collaborative and a strong communicator across diverse audiences
• Skilled in providing in-the-moment coaching and feedback
• Able to metabolize stress positively and work with joy and optimism
• Able to anticipate, diagnose and proactively solve issues or problems that may arise
• Passionate about hospitality with a strong, proactive guest focus
• Focused on operational integrity, holding recipes and presentation to the highest standards
• Experience working in complex team environments
• Experience organizing work tasks for yourself and others
• Demonstrated adherence to Food and Equipment Safety guidelines
• Proficiency with basic kitchen machinery, including Turbo Chef oven, Vitamix and immersion blender a plus

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of the Catering Menu
• Has access to all order channels (on line, third party, etc.) and organizes orders for the day and week
• Organizes and stages all necessary product and packaging and communicates with the café team on production quantities and timing by item and order
• Double checks that all food is made to quality specifications, is packaged properly and that the order is accurate in terms of number and type of items ordered
• Creates delivery dispatch requests and dispatches orders for drivers accurately and on time
• Enters Catering Orders into POS system, and closes them to the appropriate payment options
• Assists Managers in organizing and managing the inventory of catering supplies and communicating staffing needs based on order volume
• Will be trained in back of house roles and other placements as needed
• Will be responsible for tracking catering sales with the support of the Café GM and the Catering AGM
