This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. The role involves cooking and serving grilled and deep-fried items, preparing specialty items, and assisting the lead cook or chef. The cook will prepare entree dishes, meats, sauces, gravies, soups, deep-fried foods, and accompaniments according to computerized production recipes/reports. Responsibilities also include slicing and weighing serving portions of meats and cheeses, preparing food to meet meal deadlines while maintaining quality and freshness using progressive cooking techniques, and taking food temperatures according to a predetermined schedule, documenting them on log sheets. The position requires the use of specific kitchen equipment, providing exceptional customer service, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, assisting with dishes, and following Serv-Safe personal hygiene standards. Other duties may be assigned.
