CATERING ATTENDANT (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Catering Attendant delivers and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the catering captain and ensures events are accurately executed during their shift. The role may include driving a catering delivery truck. Duties include setting up and serving at functions, cleaning event areas during and after events, breaking down setups, leaving areas neat and clean, and returning leftover food and equipment to the catering facility in a timely manner. This position is located at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. The full-time schedule varies by day and hours, with open availability required, including weekends and nights. Prior food service experience is a plus but is not required; training is offered. Pay is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour. The position requires a valid driver's license when applicable and the ability to possess or obtain required food handler and/or alcohol server permits. Work may be reduced or paused during educational facility breaks, possibly resulting in unpaid temporary layoffs; based on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at a different location during breaks.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license may be required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers' permit where required by state law.

Responsibilities
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations.
- Log and maintain food temperatures.
- Arrange tables and decorations.
- Arrange buffet tables with food, beverages, and service items according to standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Thoroughly clean the location after each event.
- Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
- Distribute and collect customer comment cards for catered functions.
- Stock, clean, and maintain the catering facility and equipment.
- Provide friendly and courteous service to guests.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete menu and products on hand.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
