About The Position

Interns will gain hands-on exposure to the processes and operations of the Catering Convention Services Department. Through observation and guided participation, they will develop an understanding of how information is coordinated and communicated across departments within the property. Interns will have the opportunity to attend and observe key meetings, including Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, resume meetings, and Pre-Convention meetings. Through direct client interaction and collaboration with managers, interns will build customer service, communication, and organizational skills. They will develop foundational knowledge of industry terminology, menus, event diagrams, Fire Marshal regulations, and standard catering and convention practices. By the end of the internship, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how to manage a group from start to finish and apply their academic learning in a professional hospitality environment. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in hospitality, event management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
