The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for standardizing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality of cleanliness and maintenance in all back-of-house (BOH) food and beverage areas. This role involves managing all aspects of the Stewarding Department functions in accordance with hotel standards, directing and implementing a service and management philosophy to guide staff, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of F&B related BOH areas. The supervisor will monitor and evaluate staffing, hire, train, and motivate staff, develop employees, set service standards, and oversee inspections of BOH areas for cleanliness and equipment maintenance. They will also supervise cleaning to meet health department requirements, conduct internal health inspections, prepare work schedules, and continuously improve BOH services by evaluating problems and using feedback or data. The role includes conducting BUZZ meetings, keeping the team informed of property promotions, following company policies, practicing safety rules, ensuring proper storage of items, communicating company expectations, addressing employee performance, inspecting grooming, holding employees accountable, maintaining employee records, understanding the CBA Union contract, ensuring equipment cleanliness, training staff on chemical use, delegating duties, overseeing trash disposal, checking storage areas, monitoring dishwashing and storage requirements, identifying dish machine problems, preparing contingency plans, monitoring pest control, conducting training sessions, reviewing service needs, assisting staff, responding to emergencies, and performing other related duties.
