About The Position

Group Procurement enables our business by procuring all our Non-Trade Goods and Services. As a member of the Category Management Team, the Category Specialist supports the Category Manager to execute category portfolio strategies. In this role you will also lead the end to end category management process for defined sub categories, leading the development of categories and strategic sourcing strategies, end-to-end contract lifecycle management, cost optimisation, partnering with business functions to drive procurement policy and compliance and championing Endeavour’s ESG ambitions. This opportunity has a strong preference for Packing and Consumables experience.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years category management/sourcing experience with proven abilities to develop and implement commercial strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement good practices, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proven capability to operate in, and support, a fast paced procurement environment requiring excellent time and work prioritisation skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Packing and Consumables experience.
  • Strong Coupa experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Category Manager to execute category portfolio strategies, and lead the end-to-end category management process for defined sub categories.
  • Develop category and sourcing strategies, RFXs, contract negotiations, contract management plans and supplier relationship / performance management and reporting in line with SRM/SPM plans.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on procurement decisions.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities for optimisation via spend analysis and tail spend management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report upon supplier performance and compliance with contractual agreements, addressing any issues or discrepancies as needed.
  • Champion sustainable procurement practices, ensuring that environmental and social considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.
  • Influencing and mobilising stakeholders to deliver impactful change through clear communications and presentation.
  • Promote and drive a comprehensive understanding of the Procurement Policy and its associated processes.
  • Representing the EDG Category Management Team.
