About The Position

This position is open to students currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program. As a Co-op at Staples, you will be a fully integrated member of the team, participating in department and company events/meetings, experiencing Staples as a full-time associate, and making an impact through independent projects. For this co-op, you will support the day-to-day inventory management for a specific product category, focusing on the ‘four P’s’ of Merchandising: Product Assortment, Product Pricing, Product Placement, and Product Promotion.

Requirements

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Excel) and an ability to learn new software quickly is critical
  • Experience in customer service and/or a retail store environment (or comparable experience)
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary education program

Nice To Haves

  • Business or Supply Chain program enrollment would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review and proof marketing materials for accuracy
  • Participate in monthly Merchandise Department meetings
  • Interaction with vendors, community and store associates across Canada
  • Assist with any special projects, supporting B2B or B2C business units
  • Identify opportunities to improve the merchandising experience leveraging all available insights
  • Leverage various analytics tools and provide insightful recommendations / process improvements, supporting our customer needs and business objectives
  • Receive constant support and performance feedback
  • Other duties as assigned
