About The Position

Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Category Sourcing Specialist with strong knowledge and proven expertise in Materials, MRO, and Subcontracts sourcing in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team! Role Summary: This role manages the sourcing with a strong focus on developing Category Strategies that capture market cost drivers and category trends; drive competition, and leverage spend across the Company. This position is primarily responsible for all global strategic sourcing activities for various commodities. As such, the incumbent is charged with developing, negotiating, implementing and maintaining competitively advantageous supply arrangements as the global sourcing functional expert. The incumbent is also recognized as a key member of the business team(s) that they support.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred)
  • Experience: 5 to 7+ years of experience,
  • Special skills: Previous industrial plant and/or manufacturing experience
  • Travel Requirements: 25- 30% travel.
  • Proficient computer skills, influence skills, strong verbal and written communication skills. Financial skills (reviewing balance sheet, income statement)
  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, negotiate, implement, and sustain supply contracts consistent with business objectives.
  • Estimated average spend managed is $50-150 million supporting the Pipelines, Terminals, BDL and GMT business segments.
  • Category managed includes pumps, metering and meter stations, fabricated equipment, control systems, plant equipment (i.e. Corpus Christi and all other equipment.
  • Supply contract size range –$1 – 10 million.
  • Provide global leadership for understanding marketplace conditions and adjusting commercial contracting strategies to ensure project development and project execution success.
  • Lead engineering and contractor partner identification and qualification efforts in new geographies to assist business entry.
  • Responsible for advancing the sourcing work process and associated tools globally to drive the Buckeye Way.
  • Provide leadership for understanding, monitoring, communicating, and responding to dynamic market conditions and business drivers on a global basis to maximize leverage and minimize risk.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involved in supplier discovery with a focus on non-traditional and low cost country sourcing.
  • Bring innovative supplier solutions to maximize value proposition across the supply chain.
  • Manage supplier performance and maintain interface at senior levels of supplier’s organization.
  • Ensure that the sourcing process is consistent with the necessary regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Balancing workload across the enterprise to maximize effective use of resources.
  • Recruiting, training, and development of staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
