About The Position

R.W. Zant LLC and its subsidiaries (Commodity Sales, LLC / R-Dub Foods LLC) are looking for a strategic and driven Category Manager to lead the growth and performance of key product categories. This role sits at the center of sales, purchasing, and supplier strategy, making it a highly visible position with real impact on revenue, margins, and customer satisfaction. The Category Manager owns the full lifecycle of their categories — from supplier negotiations and inventory planning to sales strategy and customer engagement. In addition, this role manages a personal book of business, working directly with customers to grow revenue and strengthen partnerships. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, sales, purchasing, or procurement
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies to optimize product selection, pricing, and promotions
  • Monitor category performance and adjust strategies to maximize sales and margins
  • Identify market trends and new product opportunities
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms
  • Source new products and vendors to maintain a competitive offering
  • Monitor inventory levels and align purchasing with demand
  • Drive revenue growth within assigned categories
  • Manage and grow a personal book of business
  • Partner with sales teams on customer strategy and category expansion
  • Conduct product demonstrations and customer training when needed
  • Manage category performance including sales, margins, and inventory levels
  • Develop forecasts and align purchasing strategies with business goals
  • Manage special orders from pricing through fulfillment
  • Coordinate with operations, inventory, and finance teams
  • Ensure orders meet margin and operational requirements
  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership
  • Use data to improve pricing, product selection, and promotions
