About The Position

This position generates value by negotiating pricing discounts and protecting Mayo Clinic from various types of risk. Work is assigned and monitored by team leaders based on business needs, and the position may serve on multiple teams. It may lead lower-risk teams or projects and, when mentoring, provide day-to-day oversight for personnel and projects. The role maintains effective working relationships with people throughout the institution and external contacts, and develops ongoing relationships with operations managers and project leaders to understand sourcing needs, opportunities, and priorities. The position provides leadership for the day-to-day management of contracting activities and personnel, independently negotiates medium-complexity and medium-risk contracts, and applies contract law and category knowledge. It participates in developing short-term tactics and long-range plans to protect Mayo’s business and legal interests and support effective administration and management. It also participates in negotiations and consultation related to supplies and distribution agreements, awarding agreements, and supplier performance. After contracts are negotiated and executed, the position participates in and may lead lifecycle management activities, including assessing amendments or extensions, contractual compliance, termination, and change control. It provides management oversight of contract administration processes, performs analyses such as total cost of ownership and special-deal analysis, represents Mayo in vendor contract dispute resolution, and completes other assigned special projects. The role is hybrid. Eligible candidates must live within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional onsite expectations based on business needs. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Candidates may be asked to complete a prerecorded OnDemand interview during selection.
